She is responsible for exhibit and sponsorship sales for CES representing 4,300+ exhibitors in over 2.5 million net square feet of exhibit space.
With over 15 years of experience in the tradeshow industry, Shari started her career at CTA holding various positions within the sales department. Raising through the ranks, she is known for her relationship building and strategic selling having worked with various Fortune 500 companies on creating valuable experiences at the annual CES. During her tenure, CES has grown its footprint by 45%. Shari is credited for building the vehicle tech category at CES, catapulting CES to be recognized as one of the most influential auto events of the year. Woman to Watch – Ellie Doherty, Western Regional Sales Manager, DMF Lighting
Passionate about lighting design, lighting fixtures, and lighting control engineering, Ellie utilizes her expertise in intelligent lighting to make lighting easy and exciting for dealers. She is a dynamic, success-driven, and highly motivated professional with extensive experience in all facets of specification and engineering lighting design layouts. Ellie has completed HTSA’s Lighting Levels I, II, and III courses after earning the American Lighting Association’s Lighting Specialist certification. Her experience includes extensive interaction with the design-build community; presenting to architects, builders, and interior designers; and working with homeowners to deliver luxury lighting solutions. Doherty’s 10-plus year career highlights include her position as Director of Sales for the Lighting Division at Powerfull Systems, a Los Angeles-based custom integration firm, Automated Lighting and Shades Specialist with Doherty Design Group and TriPhase Technologies in Indianapolis and her position as a sales representative for the Lutron Electronics’ Serena Shades team.
Carol Campbell Inspiration Award – Jana Stevens, Owner and President, Phoenix Systems
Jana Stevens, a visionary leader, has shaped the residential integration industry for over four decades. Co-founding Phoenix Systems in 1979, she built the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier home integration company, serving iconic clients like Bill Hewlett and Larry Ellison. Under her leadership, Phoenix Systems pioneered innovations like the AudioAccess product line, now in the CEDIA Product Hall of Fame. After Harman International acquired Phoenix Systems in 1993, Jana repurchased the company in 2000, becoming one of the first women to independently own an integration firm. Her suggestion “Why don’t you start a trade association”, inspired her husband Chris and his friend Tom Doherty to create CEDIA. A mentor and advocate, she helped form WiCT and played a pivotal role in advancing professional collaboration, mentorship, and standards within the industry.
